It's Later Than You Think!

The Old West Show looked wonderful this year (what littlie I got to see of it!). Thank all of you who helped put it on, and thank Jerome Grimmer for agreeing to be our judge this year.  We had two beautiful sculptures to show off, and we sold a painting right off the receiving floor! Congratulations to Bev Elrod who sold her 1st place-winning swans! The  Miniature show will be here sooner than you think so I hope you are all “thinking small” already, because receiving will be the last Saturday in June, so the show can hang for the month of July.
Already we have a two-time 1st place winner for Pick of The Month, so let’s all bring in some work to give Red Tucker some competition.

May was a crazy month! I actually got caught out in that unseasonable hailstorm. It’s been so long since it rained here in Fresno I didn’t believe the weatherman when he said it was going to rain!

Deborah Pepin’s demo was so much fun. I’m hoping that a few of the artists who played around with the materials and techniques will bring in their stuff for Pick of The Month (framed properly of course!).

In June, I’m really looking forward to the demo by Sally Seago and I hope that you are also. It will be a real pleasure to have her back in Fresno.

In July, we are going to take a break from demos and have a critique by one of Fresno’s master artists. Julieanne is still working on getting the agreement signed, so I’m not going to jump the gun and give out the name ahead of time. Do you have a piece of art that maybe you would like some advice on finishing it? Or maybe a painting you want to re-work? Think about bringing it for the July meeting.

We will be giving out awards for the Miniature show at that meeting also so come down and cheer your friends (or maybe yourself?).
