Old West Show

We had a wonderful Old West show this year, and it was all due to the generosity and diligence of the members who volunteered. A show like this simply is not put on in a vacuum. Without the hard work by our members, it wouldn’t have happened. Jackie stepped in as show chair and everything was organized so that it ran smoothly. Glynmary, as always, did a great job organizing and serving the food for the reception. Alice had all the ribbons and prizes ready to be handed out, and she did a great job on the show catalog. Julianne coordinated the schedule for sitting the show and reminding those of us when we had agreed to sit and we didn’t have a single time when the show doors had to stay shut because no one was there to sit the show. Our members who turned out to help with the set up, and hang the show really contributed to how well the show looked. So, thank you, to all of you.

We did need more help in taking down the standards. I want to extend a great big thank you to Jim Sutton and Susan Asadoor’s two young pre-teenage boys for taking down the standards and loading them into the trailer. They were great, but I’m sure they would have appreciated more help. Hope we can do better with this aspect of the show this fall.

We’ve got some great stuff coming up next month; don’t forget to bring your painting, drawing or photography materials to our next meeting. We will have a live model (a guy this time) and two still life set ups for those of you who don’t want to draw figures. See you there!
